Munshi Ghat : Varanasi

Munshi Ghat is one of Varanasi Ghats. In the property of Nagpur, a finance minister, Sridhar Narayan Munshi constructed this ghat and partly the palace building; After his name it started to be called "Munshi Ghat". In 1915, the Brahmin king of Darbhanga (Bihar) developed this Ghat in that form which was later known as Darbhanga Ghat. Twenty-two is an extended form of Munshi Ghat. The palatial building of Darbhanga Ghat is made of sandar sandstone, which has a beautiful veranda and Greek columns. The strong steps for the roof were made in 1930. This area is important in the mythological context, but this palace is very important for its grandeur and architectural style. In 1994 Darbhanga Palace was purchased by the Clarks Hotel Group, who named it as Brijramama Palace, and plans to convert it to a five star hotel. They have already demolished almost half the structure from the back; Its perimeter is being extended and its height has been raised to make it suitable for the use of the planned hotel. It will be a beautiful setting for the hotel to attract a high-ranking rich tourists from the west, although the development of the necessary infrastructure will have to face the entire environmental pollution, socio-psychological depression and difficult common life problem.
